Ridge Racer is a series of racing games created by Namco and initially released in arcades in 1993. Been doing my best to keep up with and learn about the stuff I do like with the limited information out there in English.- Then- Sony Computer Entertainment president (later president and CEO of its parent company) Kaz Hirai at E3 2006

I really like Japanese music and pop culture as a result haha, been learning the language for years to try and get work out there and better understand the stuff I like. My mom eventually found out when I was like 15 and got pissed at me when she found out I was trading my new CDs and DVDs for boxes of old used crap and threw out my stuff and banned me from buying stuff online.

Originally I just wanted Video Game soundtracks, almost every Japanese game has an official soundtrack released in Japan, until some of the people I regularly traded with felt bad about ripping off an 11 year old by up trading old cheap video game OST CDs for new and "rare" American CDs so they started sending me boxes of old CDs and random stuff, I got really into J-pop and J-rock, anime, Japanese Action Movies, car and fashion magazines, Japanese Toys, and Japanese Fashion after that. I was really into 2chan and ebay when I was a teen and was really into CD, Magazine, and DVD trading in Japan in the early 2000s. Best place to go to find more funny enough is Soundcloud, since Soundcloud gives artists one of the biggest revenue cuts a lot of Japanese indie bands post their stuff there, Japanese Video Game and anime soundtracks are also a great place to get some names since Shibuya Kei was very hot from the late 90s until the early 2010s in Japan so lots of Shibuya Kei artists had gigs as composers. TLDR: Strawberry Machine, YMCK, Eel, and Captain Funk) Some of my faves are Strawberry Machine (she has a very chill whisper dream like party vibe I like, her music is very cute), YMCK (they are like a chiptune swing Jazz band), Eel (I love her music it has a like metal kind of Chaos to it it's very energetic and cute, closest mainstream band would be like Baby Metal but if they made techno, finding her music is kind of a headache since there's a UK Alt Rock band called The Eels, but Little Prince is one of her best albums and you can find a list of her albums on ) and Captain Funk ( He has a like Funky Drum and Bass style closest mainstream thing I can say his stuff sounds like is the Penis Music meme). (put parenthesis to describe bands and to help make it easier to track down some harder to find bands. Shibuya Kei is a very individualistic and broad music style so there is a lot of listening to different bands to narrow down your taste for it so it's a fun genre to dive into. Just FYI if yall want to find more of this style of music, The music style is called Shibuya Kei in japan at least it's a small sub genre of Electronica, it has different labels around the world there's drum and bass and jungle music but to get that Japanese style specifically Shibuya Kei is a great umbrella.
